Game Recap

The Patriots defeated the Colts 34-27 for the sixth straight win in the series. The game lead tied or changed five times by halfway through the third quarter; a Scott Chandler touchdown catch late in the second was erased on a penalty. Late in the third quarter the Colts attempted a trick play on fourth down where nine players lined up wide right, while Griff Whalen lined up at center and Colt Anderson lined up as a quarterback, hoping to catch the Patriots offsides; the play failed and Anderson was sacked for a one-yard loss, leading a befuddled Al Michaels in the NBC Sports booth to mutter, "What in the world?"
